ERNIE THODE WILL BE PRESENTER AT 2014 SPRING MEETING

The Indiana Chapter is exceedingly glad to present a program featuring renowned German authority Ernest Thode at the Spring 2014 meeting on April 26, 2014 at the Athenaeum in Indianapolis. Mr. Thode’s knowledge about German genealogy accumulated over a number of years and his ability to utilize numerous resources— whether printed, archival or online—enables him to provide insightful assistance to many individuals who have hit brick walls in their research. The program will feature the following presentations: American Changes in German Names, Top German Genealogy Websites and an “Ask Ernie” Session. This will be a live recreation of his very popular quarterly column in The Palatine Immigrant. Registrants will be able to submit a specific query about their German research to Mr. Thode that will be considered to become part of his presentation during the meeting.  Additionally Mr. Thode has agreed to provide summary translations of German-language documents.
