GENERAL CONDITION: There are approximately 200 stones in this cemetery. Many of the stones are broken, and many are no longer legible. There have probably been several burials since that last reading in 1940. The grass is tall, but overgrown weeds do not appear to be a problem. (1997)
DIRECTIONS FROM DOWNTOWN: Take I-65 north from the downtown area. Get off at the 71st St. exit. At the bottom of the exit ramp, turn right (east). At the first stop sign, this is Lafayette Rd., turn left (north). Go north on Lafayette Rd. for about a mile. Before you get to the flashing light, you will want to turn left (west) onto Traders Point Rd. After about a 1/2 mile, Traders Point Rd. makes a sharp right turn and turns into Wilson Rd. After about 1/10th of a mile on Wilson Rd., there is a road on the right with a Dead End sign. Turn on this road. The cemetery sits on the left and has a gravel road entrance. There is room for only 1 car to park safely off the road.
This cemetery was read by the Genealogical Society of Marion County in 1997, and published in both a softbound book and CD titled "Cemetery Readings of Pike Township." This reading showed approximately 170 graves, with 21 having no name or other identify information. The burial records we show came from these readings.
