On March 26, 1948 a F4 tornado swept through Clay, Putnam and Hendricks Counties.  The program will present photographs, maps and memorabilia about the tornado and the aftermath.  Afterwards, the discussion will encourage personal reminisces about the tragedy.

The human skeleton holds a lot of information about a person, if you know where to look.  Join Rachel Sharkey from the Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology to learn what types of things bioarchaeologists look for when studying skeletal remains.  Learn how characteristics like the shape of the pelvis and the wear on the teeth can help to tell the story of how a person lived.  Special attention will be given to the historical diseases that may have inflicted early settlers in Indiana and how bioarchaeological analysis can tell us about those maladies.

Michael L. Strauss, AG is the principal owner of Genealogy Research Network—a forensic genealogy company. Michael has been an Accredited Genealogist since 1995 and an avid genealogist for more than 30 years. He is a Private Investigator in Virginia and Qualified Expert Witness in courts of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. He is an approved genealogist for the United States Army to locate DNA-qualified members of MIAs and POWs from WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam. Strauss lectures widely throughout the United States and is on the faculty of the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research. He has taught genealogy courses at Brigham Young University, Warren County Community College, and Shepherd University.
