GENERAL CONDITION:  This cemetery was established in 1841, and is really in pretty good shape for it's age.  Of course some of the older stones are worn and broken, and judging from the empty spaces there are probably a lot of missing stones.  But there are also a lot of older stones in good condition and even a few recent (1960's) burial.  The grass is well maintained, probably by personnel from Eagle Creek Park since it is surrounded by park property, but beware of poison ivy and oak around the perimeter and growing up some of the older trees. DIRECTIONS FROM DOWNTOWN:  Take I-65 north from the downtown area.  Get off at the Lafayette Rd. exit.  At the bottom of the exit ramp turn right (north).  Go north on Lafayette Rd. about 1 mile to 56th St.  Turn left (west) on 56th St.  Go west on 56th St. about 2 1/2 miles and across Eagle Creek Reservoir.  The cemetery sits on your right about 1/4 mile west of the reservoir, at Sunnyhill Rd. If you plan to visit the cemetery for any length of time, I would recommend parking in the parking lot down by the reservoir and walking up to the cemetery.  The parking adjacent to the cemetery is a "no parking" area and you will get a ticket!
